100 NIGHT TRIAL/RETURNS/REFUNDS

What is the 100 night trial?

We think important relationships shouldn’t be rushed, so we give you up to 100 nights to make sure you love your mattress. If you’re not completely satisfied after 14 days, let us know within 100 nights and we’ll arrange to collect it free of charge and refund your money. All we ask is that you try the mattress for at least 14 nights because we know that changing mattresses, even from a bad one, takes the body time to get used to – like all new relationships.

How do I return my mattress and get a refund?

If for any reason, after 14 days and within 100 days of purchase, you are not happy with your Sleep Republic mattress and wish to return it, contact us by email at info@sleeprepublic.com.au and tell us. Also include a photo confirming the condition of the mattress. Mattresses must be undamaged and not marked in order to be returned as charities will not accept these. We will arrange with you to have it collected. Once collected, we will refund to the original purchase card.

Are there any costs for returning the mattress under the 100 night trial?

We don’t charge any pickup or transport costs on returns providing your area is serviced by one of our collecting charities. In the event that collection is from an unserviced area, delivery to the nearest charity collection point (or the cost) will be the buyers responsibility.

Sometimes we include items like pillows or mattress protectors or sheets as special offers with the purchase. These goods must be returned in order to receive your refund.

Is there a limit to how many mattresses I can return under the 100 night trial?

Just like at the buffet, where it’s best to try before filling your plate, we want you to be sure you love your mattress before you order big! So we limit returns under the 100 night trial to one per household.

Where do the returned mattresses go?

Mattresses returned under the trial are first given grief counselling (just joking!) and then are donated to charity. They are not re-sold by us but sometimes the charities may elect to sell through their op shop outlets to raise funds.

Do you re-sell returned mattresses?

We do not re-sell returned mattresses and arrange wherever possible to donate the mattress to charity. We have used a variety of charities such as Salvos and Lifeline depending on their need and location. If not donated to charity, mattresses are recycled.

Free Delivery

Is delivery really free?

Yes, delivery is free to anywhere in Australia, providing our contracted delivery agent services that location. If in doubt, contact us through the website and we will confirm that we can deliver to your location.

How does delivery work?

You provide us with your address and mobile contact number at Checkout. For metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne, orders placed by noon will be delivered usually between 2 and 6pm that day subject to stock availability. You will receive texts to enable tracking of the delivery. For other areas our courier will contact you, between 2 and 4 business days depending on location (up to 10 business days for some rural and remote areas), to arrange delivery time and date. Please note: delivery is to your front door, our deliverers aren’t authorised to enter your premises or to help you celebrate your new arrival!

What if someone isn’t home all day?

If you provide us with an Authority to Leave at checkout, our agent can deliver and leave the mattress at your address. Note; this will be at your risk and must be a secure covered area such as the rear of your house or a garage.

Where are mattresses shipped from?

Our mattresses are shipped from depots in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. (And they can’t wait to go travelling!)

Can I put my mattress back in its box?

Like the proverbial Genie, your mattress cannot be put back in the box! (Unless of course, you are unbelievably strong!)

The Mattress

How do I unpack my Sleep Republic mattress?

You will be sent a Welcome Pack with opening instructions and an opening ‘tool’ by Express Post prior to receiving your mattress. If you have misplaced or not received these, opening instructions are on the Mattress Page of the website. You can remove the blue outer wrapper with a pair of scissors that have a rounded point, so they don’t puncture the inner vacuum bag or damage the mattress . The mattress can then be unrolled just like a very large newspaper. NB exercise caution while unrolling as the mattress can unroll quickly if the inner vacuum bag has been punctured.

What sort of base can I use with my mattress?

Our mattress works well on any stable and level base substantial enough to support it. It will live happily on a slat or slat ensemble base or even the floor if that’s what you want. All bases, double and larger, should have good central support. We do not recommend the use of Posture or spring slat bases which change the feel and support provided by the mattress.

Note that it is normal for mattresses to vary slightly in size +/-3% due to the flexible materials used.

What certifications do you have?

Our Cashmere blend fabric has been CSIRO tested in Australia and cleared from presence of harmful chemical substances. Our gel visco memory foam has been vetted and approved by CertiPUR-US®, a US based program that certifies the foam is tested and meets their content, emissions and durability standards. Where is the mattress designed and made?

We design the Sleep Republic mattress in Melbourne, based on decades of experience in making and selling over 100,000 mattresses around Australia. Our vetted manufacturers build the mattress to our detailed specifications in China.

How do I set up the mattress?

Setting up the mattress is extremely simple. We will send out a welcome pack to you prior to the delivery of the mattress, it’s full of handy stuff like a detailed set of opening and set-up instructions and also a special opening tool to make setting up the mattress a breeze. You and a friend (or two) should be able to set up your mattress in minutes. The worst part? There can be no replays!

Why is there only one model?

We have channeled all our efforts, expertise, and passion into providing one superb mattress that we believe is the best for you and makes you better in bed!

Will the mattress form a ‘valley’ or body impression?

Some amount of body indentation occurs naturally in all mattresses and is normal because we all tend to sleep in the same area most of the time. See our blog article on body impression on ‘Bedtime Stories’ page.

How do I care for my mattress?

We think a mattress should always be used with a mattress protector. Any stains or marks on the mattress should be removed with careful wiping or dabbing with a damp cloth. Don’t use solvents or chemicals and don’t over wet. Allow the area to dry before covering again.

Is there any odour from the mattress?

Because the mattress has been vacuum packed it will have a slight ‘new bed’ odour on opening that will dissipate, while you can sleep on it virtually immediately, we recommend leaving it exposed to circulating air for as long as possible.

Do I need to flip or rotate my mattress?

You do not need to flip your Sleep Republic mattress. We have designed our mattress as a single sided pillow top with the best quality pocket spring core and pillow top contents. Rotating the mattress, top to bottom, every few months will keep it in top condition.

What is the feel of the mattress?

The mattress is medium/firm feel. Years of customer feedback have told us that this is what the vast majority of people (even years after buying one) are happy with. Despite notions that absolute softness is required for a perfect night’s sleep, we have found time and time again that soft mattresses don’t cut it. The same can be said for those contemplating a very firm mattress. A rock-hard mattress wears surprisingly thin after a few nights.

Does the mattress "sleep hot"?

Our mattress has a carefully designed comfort layer, in this layer is gel infused memory foam designed for temperature stability. Beneath is natural latex with hundreds of ventilation pores to allow for breathability.  Added to this, the natural ventilation characteristics of pocket springs and our 3D side panels help avoid heat build up and make a healthy sleep environment We are confident that even hot sleepers will not have any issues with heat build up.

We do not remove your old mattress but if you need the details for recyclers in your area contact us by email and we’ll send you details.

How does Sleep Republic support charity?

We donate mattresses returned under our 100 night trial period to charity. The charities vary depending on their need and location.

Warranty

What warranty do you provide?

Your mattress comes with a 4,380 day (that’s 12 years) warranty against faulty workmanship or materials.

The Pillow comes with a 5 year warranty against  faulty workmanship or materials.

Do you have a comfort guarantee on The Pillow?

The Pillow comes with a 30 day comfort guarantee from date of purchase. This means if you are not absolutely happy with The Pillow you may return it and receive a refund of your purchase price. Full details of how to claim under this guarantee are shown in the Terms page online.
